Reasons for the Changes (aka Our Mission)

Please know that BAP’s ultimate goal is to make it possible for you to get treatment often enough and long enough to get better and stay better. We want our BAP community to be open to all different kinds of people. We want to give you tools so you do not have to rely solely on large insurance and pharmaceutical corporations for costly and high tech interventions.  Although we are not a substitute for Western Medicine, we are an effective and accessible complement to it.

Most acupuncturists in the United States, treat patients on tables in private rooms. This is not traditional in Asia where Chinese Medicine originates. In our clinic we have divided spaces, however everyone is treated in the same community setting (i.e. everybody together!).  Treating in a community setting has many benefits: it’s easy for friends and family to come for treatment together; many new patients find it comforting to see others who are being treated safely in the same environment; and while respecting how each person derives and makes meaning, a collective space allows for a sense of connection with other community members who are seeking to heal. Especially in such divided times, we here at BAP feel that creating common ground for healing is one of the most powerful things we can do as acupuncturists!

Most acupuncturists in the US see only 1 patient at a time and charge upwards of $120+ per treatment. They spend a long time talking with each individual patient. While we always aim to give thorough attention and care to every person, in contrast, we streamline treatments and see multiple patients in an hour. This way we are able to make acupuncture affordable and still make sure practitioners are paid fairly. This is a more traditional approach to the medicine.

Our commitment to you:
We will always provide you with a safe community healing space with skilled practitioners.
